A Sea of Change: The Original Poop Bags® quest to help SEE Turtles save 100,000 baby turtles

One of the most exciting parts of my company is having the privilege to talk with people that are dedicated to making the world a better place for its inhabitants.

It's truly inspiring to hear about the incredible work that See Turtles and its founder, Brad Nahill, are doing to make a positive impact on the environment. Their achievements since 2008 include:

  • Saving over 13 million baby sea turtles
  • Removing 100,000 pounds of plastic from the ocean
  • Protecting over 50 turtle hatcheries
  • Organizing 30+ beach clean ups around the globe
  • Creating a sustainable income for 150+ locals through eco-tourism

While all of those accomplishments are beyond commendable, what I found so impressive is the fact that See Turtles operates so efficiently with a team of only three people, including Brad! Their efforts are not going to corporate overhead, and that was represented by their estimate that $1 dollar raised equals ten turtles saved! It truly showcases their dedication and passion for their cause, and we salute them!

We're so proud The Original Poop Bags®️ (OGPB) gets to support such meaningful initiatives and causes through our You Buy; We Donate®️ philanthropic program - all made possible by your support! By featuring them in December, your support saved over 19,000 baby sea turtles.

After speaking with Brad, we decided to feature them again, and I'm setting the following goals for me, PoopBags.com and You Buy; We Donate®️:

  • Help save 100,000 baby sea turtles
  • Stand guard at a hatchery and physically help save a baby turtle(s)
  • Attend a beach clean-up to help remove plastic from the beach and ocean
  • Share these experiences with friends, family, employees, and customers to help raise awareness for this wonderful organization, and these beautiful creatures

Without a doubt, my goals and passions were sparked by Brad's plans for SEE Turtles. A few highlights include: the Billion Baby Turtles (BBT) saved initiative, removing 100,000 pounds of plastic every year, raising awareness of these issues, and collaborating with organizations like Travelers Against Plastic to address various environmental challenges.

With their track record of success, and ongoing efforts to expand their programs, I'm confident that See Turtles will surpass their goals and make a lasting impact on the planet. While 100,000 baby turtles saved is a drop in the bucket towards 1 Billion, I'm gonna have a great night's sleep when I write that blog update by the end of this year!

Thanks to Brad, the See Turtles team, and all of you. Please consider supporting SEE Turtles and most importantly, leaving planet Earth a little bit better than you found it.
